The equivalent award for the other ranks for gallantry at sea in presence of the enemy was the Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) which had been instituted in 1914 and

it was awarded in bronze from 1885 to native support personnel such as bearers

The General Service Medal 1962 - 2007 is commonly known as the Campaign Service Medal 1962 as was awarded with a minimum of one campaign clasp (in the instance 'Borneo') and it is believed that a maximum of six clasp have been awarded on one medal

This is the BAR ONLY and is supplied ready to be fitted to a General Service Medal 1962 onwards. Please note that fitting of these clasps requires specialist equipment.
