In its juvenile form, small heart shaped leaves are marbled in silver and dark green and press themselves flat against a supporting surface in a "shingling" habit that looks almost like living wallpaper. Given a pole, it will climb steadily upwards, eventually maturing into the large, deeply fenestrated leaves typical of the genus. Origins
