I personally much prefer the Japanese texture

Just when your opponent thought they had an amazing wall of high-attack monsters to keep them safe, this guy comes swooping in and blows through them like theyre nothing

If youre playing him aggressively you can rack up a good amount of lore, and then when he is banished, you get to draw a card to keep going

I have a general aversion to using standalone energy cards in environments without robust support, given the aesthetic questions and assumptions they invite, but there are certainly intriguing options here, and there is also far more support for an environment that really pushes energy as well
