Books - Essays A fine David Bates (1840-1921)A scarce sterling silver chamberstick with conical snuffer, the chamberstick being fully hallmarked for the celebrated silversmith Matthew Boulton, Birmingham, 1825. The snuffer (of the same date but maker stamp of 'WC', likely William Chawner II) fits perfectly into the holder and to the top of the the chamberstick.
