Antique Mirrored Box with Butterfly Woman and Match Striker Bottom painting of fruit I find tumbling block quiltsSome losses to the paper decoration on this small mirrored box, but I think it's quite a charmer, regardless including for the fabulous hand colored engraving framed at center of the lip, with this butterfly winged fairly waving her hand (holding magic herbs or mistletoe?) over the canoodling couple below. One might expect this to be a trinket box, but the underside is sandpaper for striking, so I believe it was meant for matches which defines our
