" On the bottom of each of their pieces also appears the species of the particular mushroom represented--in this case the first of the two words is a bit difficult to read because of a tiny chip in the glaze at the end of the first word but it looks like "Naucana Christinae"--and I must say is quite a lovely species

with some small scattered scratches to the surface of the stone and one thin hairline crack on the right side near the tail

These relief elements are amplified by a sort of a bronze finish

Either way, a really lovely little watercolor (or perhaps gouache) painting of a sumptuous little bounty! 3 1 2" x 5 1 2", with richly saturated color on a warm cream stock. British and early 20th century I believe.
