When I first saw it (at an antiques show in Maine)

Square, with Brass Stars and Flowers: Charming Antique Chip Carved Tramp Art Stacked Lid Box wooden heart I really like this paintingHaving looked at a whole lot of tramp art boxes at this point, I'm not too much interested in the usual forms, but when I come across one that feels unique and special to its maker, and has an especially warm and homey feeling about it, that's one I'll want to bring home. Such was my response to this one, found last weekend at an antiques show in Concord, NH, late 19th c. or so, I believe. Great presence, great box, square and with the lid making it
